This is funny:
Est. Retail Value: $42,800 USD
That hunk of junk isn’t worth $42K.

Not worth $42k... except as a tax writeoff, I’d wager. Exactly how crazy all parties involved are will depend on what the reserve is.

What 1973 drugs did they find in that car, and inevitably do to think that is worth $42k??

I’m more interested in how this hulk actually managed to survive undetected and being almost intact on a small island like Oahu. It’s basiclly the most populated island of the island chain, and there are very few places where this think could survive or even hide without the coconut wireless finding out about it. The air is pretty much salty, which means perfect conditions for rust to take form. I mean, aside from the tires, it’s looks like it’s pretty much drive-able, or a start to a restoration project.

Someone who wants a $42800 tax writeoff for a rusty old car that isn’t worth anywhere near that much.

My guess is that it was donated by the family of some old boy who just popped his clogs, who see the car as a ‘rusty old heap’, who’d rather get a tax write off than deal with junkyard owners or Craigslist lowballers.
Either way though - nobody is paying anything close to 42k for it.

“Location: HI - HONOLULU”
...
“Location & Delivery
Note: Shipping is only available within the continental US.”
Somehow that doesn’t make much sense.

A casino here by gave away a 71 Mach 1, with an estimated value of 40,000 dollars. Well the unfortunate couple it got loaded off on traded it in at the Ford dealership I worked at. They got 15,000 dollars for it and put that towards a new Escape, becaus no on actually wants a 71 Mustang.
Well the thing was a heep. The body repair wa crap, the paint was crap, it ran like crap, it kept draining the battery. Oh the icing on the cake, the Mach 1 decals were vinyl and weren’t gen close to symmetrical. I think it went to auction after about a year of trying to sell it for 30,000 dollars. Idk what it went for there, but not much.

71-73 are the least desirable mustangs. And if this is just a 351c Mach 1 it wouldn’t hit 40k at auction unless it’s mostly restored.

I wouldn’t mind getting it and painting it yellow. But then I would want to make a shitty/amazing movie with a wonderful chase scene. But to do that I would have to get a 73 nose for the thing add to that the fact it is in freaking Hawaii.
